Being a native of historic Jackson Ward, in Virginia's Richmond,I was surrounded by creative people. I grew up observing them as unique forms of functional art. The ingenuity of the ice maker, the merchants,the 2nd Street Performers and my relatives inspired my style. I learned that art is a universal force of strength and energy.
